EDU 625 Foundations in Leadership

Foundations in Leadership is designed to provide a foundational overview of the leadership and administrative issues with which educational leaders are confronted. This course treats leadership as a complex process having multiple dimensions. It provides in-depth descriptions and applications of many different approaches to leadership.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Define leadership and describe the various components of leadership.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the different approaches and theories pertaining to leadership.
  • Evaluate the types of leadership styles and administrative issues that face today’s leaders in a global educational environment.
  • Examine the role of gender and culture in leadership.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with academic writing related to foundations in leadership.
