We at California Coast University know it is important to get the word out about the University and to learn more about the organizations and industries of the students we serve. To do this, our faculty and staff attend a variety of conferences, workshops, and trainings and visit organizations around the country throughout the year.

April 10 – 12 – Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) 90th Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. (www.deac.org)

April 10-12 – National Commission on Correctional Health Care Conference in Nashville, TN. The conference focused on improving the quality of health care in our nation’s jails, prisons, and juvenile confinement facilities. (www.ncchc.org)

April 14 – San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs Association Appreciation Day in San Bruno, CA. Proudly serving the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs since 1952, the mission of this important organization is to support the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs and the work they do in keeping the city and county safe. Apr 27-28 - ASIS New York City Security Conference – The largest conference for security and law enforcement professionals in the Northeastern United States. Over 4,000 security practitioners, corporate decision-makers, and law enforcement personnel from 33 states and 22 countries attended the two-day event. (www.asisonline.org)

May 11 – Riverside Sheriff’s Aviation Briefing.

May 12 - 2016 Law Enforcement and First Responder Appreciation Day at University of California, Los Angeles, CA. The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS), in partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation, Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine and Sysco hosted a free concert and BBQ for Veterans, military members, law enforcement and first responders. The day included a performance by Gary Sinise’s “Sgt. Dan Band” along with other activities to show appreciation for law enforcement and veterans. (www.losangeles.va.gov/lawenforcementday)

May 13 – Los Angeles County Probation Department Briefing.

May 23 -25 - CEFD – California Fire, EMS & Disaster Conference and Expo in Indian Wells, CA. This is the 10th anniversary for firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement, military, public health providers, nurses, and Homeland Security officials to convene annually to network and train together.

June 12-14 - Middle Atlantic Correctional Conference (MASCA) in Ocean City, MD. MASCA is the leading regional interdisciplinary organization for professionals in the related fields of probation, parole, juvenile justice, and corrections. (www.masca.us)

June 14 -16 - United Parcel Service (UPS) College Fair - Chicago, IL. California Coast University has an educational partnership with UPS offering tuition discounts to their employees.

June 22 - Friends of the Badge Luncheon to support San Diego Police Foundation’s Friends of the Badge organization. (www.sdpolicefoundation.org)

June 23 – 29 - Police Security Expo in Atlantic City, NJ. With over 7000 industry professionals expected to attend, the expo attracts industry professionals responsible for securing communities and businesses, while protecting themselves on the job. Attendees learn about the latest in equipment to help them do their jobs. (www.police-security.com)
