What is the difference between California Coast University students and students at structured classroom Universities?

California Coast University's programs are oriented toward the mid-career adult and working professional. Conversely, classroom universities are attracting the 18 to 21-year olds whose life goals and ambitions have yet to be established.

California Coast University is not attempting to compete with such schools as University of Southern California, University of California Irvine, or Stanford. California Coast University students know who they are, know exactly what they want to do and are interested in a challenging and rewarding educational experience. For this reason, they are often more motivated than students at classroom universities. In addition, they gain significant advantages from their professional experience. Not only are they able to draw from the knowledge they have developed throughout their career thus far, but also they may apply earned credit for what they have already learned toward their degree program.

I just graduated from high school with a high school diploma. Is California Coast University right for me?

California Coast University's Associate programs were designed for those who have a high school diploma or equivalent. It allows students who may have limited college or work experience to enter into a degree program to expand and explore their interests. CCU makes it easy to advance to get your bachelor degree, since many of the courses completed in the associate's program would transfer into the bachelor's program in the same discipline.

Work has been my main focus. It has been some time since I have been to college but I have a year of college units to transfer. Can I juggle work and school?

The University's bachelor and master programs are designed for mid-career adults who are capable of accepting a large measure of personal responsibility for their educational achievements. A recent survey of alumni indicated that the average age of our student body is 41 years old. In 2003, the University's School of Education awarded a 92-year-old woman her degree. A lifetime dream became a reality. As you can see, an educational goal can become a reality at any age.
