Diversity in Global and Multicultural Organizations aims to expand and deepen awareness for the educational leader of the global and multicultural society in which we live. Educational leaders must be prepared to deal with issues of cultural diversity, racism, and the challenges raised by individuals and groups whose roots lie in countries, cultures, and belief systems which increasingly define the American experience and necessitate informed cross-cultural interactions in the workplace. Understanding these areas will enhance the effectiveness of an educational leader.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Define globalization and discuss the role and various factors impacting the global manager.
- Explain the concept of culture and outline the major theories that have been used to describe the variation in cultures.
- Examine cross-cultural issues and how they influence multicultural work groups, teams, and decision making.
- Demonstrate an understanding of communicating, negotiating, motivation, and leadership across cultures.
- Describe the cultural and structural components of international assignments and organizations, and examine future challenges and trends faced by cross-cultural managers.
- Demonstrate proficiency with academic writing related to diversity in global and multicultural organizations.

No. At this time, students may only enroll in a certificate or degree program and cannot enroll into a single course. We urge you to Explore All Programs to find a certificate or degree program best suited to your needs.
All of our programs are completely self-paced. This means theoretically, you can finish them as fast or as slow as you please. However, we do ask that you complete a course every six months to be active.
The Study Guide includes 4 unit exams equally spaced throughout the instructional materials, four writing assignments per unit, and the final multiple choice examination.
Yes. Every course in the educational programs offered at California Coast University requires an assigned textbook. To assist students in managing the high costs of textbooks, there is the CCU Rental Library.
Students are also welcome to obtain textbooks in their local areas or through online sources if they do not wish to utilize the California Coast University rental library.
