California Coast University - 33rd Anniversary: 1973-2006

Challenge Examinations

During the admissions process, all aspects of an applicant's background are thoroughly reviewed, evaluated and compared against the University's course work requirements. This assessment allows the University to determine if the student has sufficient professional or occupational expertise comparable to the objectives identified in a particular course to justify allowing the student to take a Challenge Examination in lieu of completing the Study Guide.

If a student does not pass a Challenge Examination they are assigned a Study Guide for completion.

The Challenge Examination is generally a multiple choice examination covering the course goals and learning objectives of an entire course, similar to a Final Examination.
