![]() ![]() "I started on the CCU MBA program mostly as a degree completion exercise, having left a two year program at another University slightly incomplete. During the process, I realized that adding the DBA program could be valuable to my career. (About half way through, I was also able to complete the other MBA program as well) Suffice it to say, completing the California Coast University MBA/DBA degree program gave me immense satisfaction. Not only was there a substantial amount of education, I re-learned a great deal about self-discipline and working under a self-imposed study schedule. The education I received was contemporaneous and useful in advancing my career goals. My objective is to end my professional career as a University Professor. The CCU Doctor of Business Administration degree has given me the opportunity to start that journey. For the last three years, I have been teaching business related classes at Far North Bible College here in Anchorage, Alaska. My classes include Church Finance (planning, budgeting, internal controls and other subjects), Introduction to Computers, a stray General Education class from time to time. I have written or co-authored several published articles or case studies, and am currently working on two additional articles, a textbook and novel. I recently co-authored and presented a paper on “Developing a Strategic Plan for a School of Business” at the Christian Business Faculty Association in San Diego. Another case study was recently accepted at the Southwest Academy of Management for presentation. I also teach seminars in personal and church financial planning. The education received at CCU has been valuable to all of these. The experience and education has been instrumental in starting the negotiations with a well-known national University in regards to joining its business faculty. In addition to teaching at FNBC, I was recently hired as the District Business Administrator for the Alaska District Council of the Assemblies of God, which oversees the business affairs of the district, the college and some 84 churches statewide. I have a number of outside affiliations which currently, or recent past, include
the Alaska Agricultural Loan Fund, Anchorage Planning and Zoning Commission,
Anchorage Board of Examiners and Appeals, Anchorage International Rotary, Rotary
Scholarship Foundation Board, Anchorage Glacier Pilots Baseball Club, US Naval
Sea Cadet Corps and its International Exchange Program. My father and I also
recently joined the Sons of Norway to learn about our Norwegian heritage."
